I haven’t had the chance to submit many of my short stories for publication lately – and I certainly haven’t been able to write many this year while I’ve been cranking out the novel wordage – but I’m still finding success with the last of my unpublished works. My quirky horror critique of the superficial nature of society, “Razor Blade Anthropology (Guerdon for the Beautiful People)“, has just sold to US pro magazine Dark Discoveries.
I’m particularly excited by this sale because:
- It’s a pro-level sale (and there ain’t that many pro mags around anymore!), and
- I’ve wanted to work with editor James Beach ever since he gave me a glowing foreword to my story “Genesis Six“, which appeared in the Best of Apex 2006 anthology.
