Shards (April 2009)
Shards is dark fiction at its shortest and sharpest. Each shard is an imaginative fragment, broken, sharp, and poised to draw blood. Shards collects my best flash fiction and shorter stories and includes works published in Shadowed Realms, Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, Apex Digest, Horror Literature Quarterly, Borderlands, Shadow Box, and several originals. Every story is illustrated to chilling effect by Andrew J. McKiernan. Shards also features an introduction by Richard Harland.
Much more detail on this book will made available soon!
“Hear No Evil” in The Anthology of Dark Wisdom (May 2009)
After a hot tip from Jeff, I’ve discovered the first Anthology of Dark Wisdom is tentatively due out in May.
About “Hear No Evil”: Blaine wakes to a world of crushing silence. An accident has robbed him of his hearing… except for a terrible scream that only he can hear. Still dazed, Blaine must decide whether he has gone insane or faces a supernatural evil.
“Requiem for the Burning God” in Cthulhu’s Dark Cults (May 2009).
I’m excited about this one, it’s my first foray into the Lovecraftian Mythos and my first published novella.
About “Requiem for the Burning God”: Peru, 1932. Max Calder is a former Captain of the British Army who is in South America on a mercenary job to escape his shady past. Unfortunately, his New World Incorporated masters have thrown Max and his team under the command of Germans who seem preoccupied with what lies in the mines deep within the Andes. As tensions rise between the NWI and the local natives, Max must rely on his skills, wits, and deadly force to unravel the secrets of Huancucho before a force darker than he could ever imagine engulfs the world.
