So the other day, Angela was watching an episode of Sanctuary on her laptop, and she turned to me and said, “Let’s see how good you are …” Not knowing what she was talking about, naturally I took up this vague challenge!
She then played a clip with two guys talking, one retelling a story he’d just been told. It went something like this (a rough paraphrase):
“The guy was washed off his yacht when it was attacked by pirates known as the Singh Brotherhood. He then washed up on an island, and inside a cave, he found a precious stone called the Gem of Cyttorak …”
Let’s just say that, without the appropriate context, she didn’t appreciate the comment …
I missed the reference to the guy washed off his yacht, but it was generic enough to whiz by.
As a comic geek, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad, right?
